When running isn’t an option for self-care or self-numbing because of an injury, what do you reach for?
I’d like to introduce you to Maggie Scruggs, our club’s most recent artist in residence. Throughout Summer 2021, she shared her weekly process-art in our member space by responding to our club’s monthly themes and weekly writing prompts with visual art.
The kicker: she’s been injured with a disk injury for months, which has left her sidelined, pelotoning, and turning over all the aspects of her complicated relationship with running, her body, and rigor.
If we don’t have to be polished about our process, what comes up? What comes out?
