Fundamentals of Ayurveda

Introduction to Elemental Theory and Ayurveda

a two part workshop hosted in Missoula, MT and online with Maggie Scruggs and Lucinda Smith

Ayurveda provides us with a meaningful foundation to return to, offering a system that truly makes sense in the context of our health and well-being. As India’s indigenous medical system, it thoughtfully organizes the seasons and body types by drawing on a unique combination of elements—the five natural elements that exist both in the external world around us and within our own bodies.

This workshop serves as an introductory journey into Ayurveda, helping participants gain a clearer understanding of these essential elements. It is carefully designed to guide us back toward practices and lifestyles that genuinely support and honor our true nature. In essence, this is a workshop focused on remembering and reconnecting. Over the course of the weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to discover your own Dosha, or body constitution type, participate in two enriching and nourishing classes, and engage deeply in the study of this ancient, time-honored tradition.

We all have a natural desire for balance; let’s discover it in community!
